When Winter Is Here…

When winter is here what do I do?  Well I take basketball photos. :) In the Fall, you could have found me on the football field sidelines capturing MHS Football:

But this winter when the family sessions slow down because well it’s cold outside! I was sitting/standing court side capturing MHS basketball at it’s finest.  I’ve discovered my love for sports photography! Enjoy (during the downtime of K Rene Photography!):

Crazy seniors…. :)

Looking Back on 2012

January 10th.  That’s pretty good for me to reflect on 2012. HA!

This has been a crazy year for me.  Both professionally and personally.  I am so happy to have gotten to know so many new people through my photography business and to work with such amazing clients.  I thank you all for a great year!!  If you check out my Availability page – you’ll see that I’m limiting my weddings this year and by 2014 I will be phasing out wedding photography.  I absolutely love being a wedding photographer, but with two small children that are involved in EVERYTHING, I need to phase out that part of my business.  :)  No worries! I’ll still be taking engagement photos, I just won’t have a wedding package option by 2014. :)

So onto what’s really important.  My favorite images from 2012.  I hope you enjoy!!

Mike & Janna *7.28.12*

It was a very warm afternoon.  I was on my way back from Cub Scout camp with my oldest son Caeden.  I was all set for a nice long shower and prepping for the wedding of Mike & Janna.  My first wedding of the season…

I arrived at the Jefferson HIll Vineyards & Guest House before the bride and groom.  It was breathtaking.  It was just “cool” enough (for the end of July. HA!) that the sun wasn’t overly hot.  There was enough of a breeze that outdoor photos would be just ducky.  Awesome.

While the bride and groom got dressed with their children, I captured the details.  Weddings are not only about the B&G (as my photo taking list says!), but also about the details.  The details some people often forget during the festivities!

Who doesn’t love shoes?!

Or shoes with rings?!

You can’t have a wedding at winery without photos of wine bottles and glasses… Just sayin’…

While Janna completed the finishing touches to her outfit, I stole the groom Mike and made him sweat a little bit on the porch.  Remember Mike – this was like taking Senior pictures. :)

Next up are his gorgeous daughters and their Daddy.  Seriously – lock them up when they get older Mike.  They are so beautiful and sweet too!

See? They are just adorable!!

Janna’s kids joined us too and I captured them as well.  This makes me feel old.  Skyler is my brother’s best friend and Logan (or Togan Larry as I used to call her!) is one of my kids’ favorite babysitters! They are now all grown up!!!

Seriously Logan? Gorgeous…Oh and does she look familiar blog fans? She should be – she’s one of my K Rene Seniors – Class of 2011! :)

And I can’t leave Sky out. :)

And we get to Janna the bride. :) She’s so pretty!!!  And so stinkin’ happy!

Nice job on the bling Mike!!

Mike & Janna.  Swoon…

Janna – you have some good lookin’ kiddos!!

Such a great looking family!!

Before the wedding Janna thanked everyone for coming.  We all made a toast and headed upstairs for the wedding.

The wedding.  I love small, intimate weddings.  They make my heart warm.  Don’t get me wrong – big weddings are awesome too – but there’s something about making it so personal.  Janna and Mike really included everyone that attended especially their kids. From Janna’s children walking her down the aisle, to them all standing up as the bridal party, from having her mom and her best friend read, to passing around the rings (on a pillow) to have everyone bless them to watching them not only become one – but become a family, it was just beautiful.

After the wedding they had dinner and socializing! :) From hammering their anniversary box they will open in 5 years to make margaritas to falling in love with the sunset – Mike & Janna I wish you nothing but the best in the world.  :)

Sam & Kristen *12.30.11 Wedding*

So there’s this wedding I captured back at the end of December.  It was a pretty special wedding for me as it was the daughter of one of my clients.  I’ve captured her granddaughter, her daughter’s senior photos, and her own business.  So of course I was honored to be asked to capture her daughter’s big day!!

A special shout out to the awesome vendors for this special day!
Ceremony/Reception Location (seriously – this place is GORGEOUS!!): Leavenworth Event Center
Floral Designs: Beyond the Bloom Boutique
Cake: FouCAKES, LLC (AH-MAZING….)

So back to the awesome couple.  Sam and Kristen are pretty awesome people (well duh – Kristen has my name.  That just makes her double awesome! :) ).  Sam is in the military and left for training shortly after the wedding.  The love these two oozed was so obvious and borderline obnoxious but oh my goodness I fell in love with them.  The way Sam looked at Kristen and the way Kristen smiled from ear to ear made YOU want to find someone to share that kind of love with.  It was intoxicating.  So I’m going to quit with the gabbing and share some of my favorite images from their special day.  :)

The next three sets are my absolute favorites. This is what I call – don’t look in your frame – keep shooting. <3

Another favorite!

Renee.  Seriously.  You rock my socks off.  Just sayin’…

*Beau Turns One!*

I had the pleasure of capturing Mr. Beau’s 1st birthday celebration.  It wasn’t too long ago that I was capturing his big sister Danica’s 1st birthday party! Mr. Beau you’re growing up way too fast but ohmygoodness you are one cutie pie!!!!

Yes. That would be my little stinker Duncan in the photo.  Sigh. He loves parties… LOL

Look! All grown up!!! Love that girl!!
